Thanks to Stash to feature my last music video "JEEZ LOUISE" for Secret Skwirl
July, 2011
Interview with GiantChild
"A new animated music video hit the internet last week that not only caught my attention,
but apparently 30,000 other people in the span of 7 days based on it’s Vimeo stats. It’s a colorful,
intricate, and psychedelic visual for the song Jeez Louise by the band Secret Skwirl.
As I began digging into the credits of the video I found it was created by Maxime Bruneel.
I had seen other work from Maxime in the past,
and I became curious about how
Maxime executes his unique style from start to finish " read more...

Directors Notes "An impressive animated promo from Maxime Bruneel for a mysterious musical duo skulking under the name Secret Skwirl:"
Dealers de Rolie Une réalisation très pop pour un groupe voulant rester anonyme, Maxime Bruneel continue de surprendre.
kickstartboom New York based Maxime Bruneel does great work. So much color and full of life
Awesome Robo This is an amazing music video with psychedelic animation and a sound heavily influenced by the Beatles,
this is one amazing music video for a band I've never heard of(color me interested now).
Artist Maxime Bruneel was confronted by the band Secret Skwirl for this awesome project and owned it,
I'm in love with this. All that's left is finding out more about the mysterious band, Secret Skwirl,
as Maxime was unable to reveal the names of the two band members.
Blue Valentine Productions Film maker Maxime Bruneel was approached by a couple of artists for this video. They chose not to let their identies
be known and for the sake of the video are simply called Secret Skwirl. The music is reminiscent of classic
Crowded House and the film reminds me of Peter Max’s work.
This n That This somewhat mysterious piece was created by Maxime Bruneel. Maxime was approached by the artist "Secret Skwirl" to create the video for their single "Jeez Louise". The somewhat mysterious part is that
Maxime was not aloud to reveal the artists behind Secret Skwirl. Regardless, I love both the music and the video.
Amazing style.
Mostly handmade things MAXIME BRUNEEL'S PSYCHEDELIC ANIMATIONS
New York based director and animator Maxime Bruneel has a simple and effective style.
His work is a great mix of hand written typography, chunky animations and funky colors,
with a pop and psychedelic feel.

Changethethought This is the strange, whimsical but fun to watch official music video for Jeez Louise’s single ‘Secret Skwirl’ directed and animated by Maxime Bruneel.
Promonews Most enjoyable pop-art animation fun in the modern style for the mysterious
Secret Skwril’s Jeez Louise by Maxime Bruneel.Maxime is apparently sworn to secrecy about working with Secret Skwril.
Enetrece Desde hoy y por siempre jamás fan de
Maxime Bruneel. Animación sencilla pero potentona. Muy muy
inspirador.
Selected is not an award, but rather, as its name suggests, it is a "selection" of the best European design projects
completed within year 2009 by graphic studios, designers and students from across Europe.
The projects are chosen by a team of renowned professionals - Selectors - from various fields in the visual communication
and graphic design industries, who meet to make a selection of the best work pieces among all the entries received.
Only the projects which are chosen from their expert point of view are ultimately included in the book.
The annual is presented with an original design and in a special format, smaller than the average yearbook.
The book is divided into three different categories (Graphic Design, New Media and Schools)
and each project is featured individually on a double-page spread. Instead of being numbered,
each edition of Selected is assigned a letter, in alphabetical order, which is also the initial of the font face used in the book.
Namely, the first volume in the series, Selected A, refers to the font face AkzidGroBe.
This is Index Book's special way of paying homage to typography as an iconic element in design.
The team of Selectors assigned for this edition have been, under each category:
Graphic Design: Björn Kusoffsky (Stockholm Design Lab), Edwin van Gelder (Mainstudio),
Lars Harmsen (Magma Brand Design), Agathe Jacquillat (Fl@33), Eduardo del Fraile (Dfraile).
New Media: David Linderman (Hi-ReS!), Joakim Borgström (Wieden+Kennedy Amsterdam).
Schools: Dra. Catherine Dixon (Central Saint Martins, UK),
Ada Lopes Cardozo (KABK Royal Academy of Fine Arts, Netherlands).
